Dr. Ravela directs the earth signals and systems group at MIT. His primary research interests are in stochastic system dynamics and optimization. Hey, someone really has to predict weather, right? Dr. Ravela has over 100 publications including several patents, and is the recipient of the MIT Infinite Kilometer award for research excellence and outstanding mentorship. Dr. Ravela is the co-founder of Windrisktech LLC, which quantifies risk from extreme environmental events, and E5 Aerospace LLC, which designs cool unmanned aircraft, like those that go to the stratosphere. Dr. Ravela holds a doctorate in Computer Science (artificial intelligence). He is an avid pilot, dancer, and lives in Belmont, Massachusetts.
